Gold leaf Photo frames

· In: Lifestyle

GoldleafPhotoFrameM found some great clear acrylic frames at the dollar store of all places. These frames are perfect for small instagram photos but they were too minimal for our style. So I decided to make gold leaf photo frames for a little fun and festivity! This project requires very little time, effort or supplies- my favourite kind of DIY…

Materials:

+ Clear acrylic frames (or floating glass frame)
+ Gold leaf
+ Adhesive size
+ Paintbrush
+ Sticky vinyl sheet
+ Hole punch or exacto knife

GoldleafPhotoFrameGoldleafPhotoFrame Directions:

  1. You will need the sticky vinyl sheet to create a stencil. To create the polka dot frame, cut two 1.5 inch strips of the vinyl, one for each side.
  2. Hole punch the sheet in a random pattern or use an exacto knife to create a fun stencil. Peel and stick the vinyl to the frame.
  3. Brush adhesive size onto our vinyl stencil, making sure the cutout holes are painted with size.
  4. The size will be opaque white when wet and clear when dry. Once it has dried, apply gold leaf with a dry brush.
  5. Peel off the vinyl sheet and you’re done!
