DIY Floral Doodle Pencil Cup

· In: DIY

Create a DIY Floral Doodle Pencil Cup to keep your desk cute + clutter free | Fish & BullWhen you’re a craft blogger, hoarding supplies (not to mention props and photography stuff) can become a serious problem when you have nowhere to put it. Lately I’ve been wanting to wrangle the ever growing mess that is my bedroom studio space if only to avoid buying the same supplies over and over again!

Glass vases are one of my favorite ways to organize everything — pencils, paintbrushes and random bits that clutter your desk can be easily stored and clearly seen in a glass vase. With colorful paint pens, I created these DIY Floral Doodle Pencil Cups by doodling a quick floral pattern. These are MUCH cuter than mesh pencil cups, don’t you think?

You can doodle patterns on the vase while watching tv and wipe it clean with rubbing alcohol to try something new, they really are that easy to make. If you’re looking for more organization ideas for your craft room, dorm room or home office, this wall organizer is still one of my favorite and most used DIYs.

Materials
— paint pens (Liquitex portrait pink + cadmium orange hue)
— glass vase
— rubbing alcohol
— paper towel

Directions
1. Clean the vase with paper towel + rubbing alcohol to remove any oil and dirt.

2. Use a paint pen to draw a floral doodle directly on the vase. I drew big flowers then added leaves and little details. You can also draw stripes, grids or any other pattern that you love.

3. Let dry for about 2 minutes and you’re done!

I bought several vases at the dollar store but you can probably find them at Target or Michaels.

Floral patterns are always my go-to but stripes, grids or polka dots would look just as nice. The pattern possibilities are endless and remember if you make a mistake, you can always wipe the glass clean with rubbing alcohol to start over.

I should do this to my jars that I’m currently using. I just need to decide the design! I’m thinking a floral-polka dot combo ๐Ÿ™‚
