If you need something for your Thanksgiving table or fall decor, a mini pumpkin floral arrangement is cheerfully bright and easy to put together.
Decorating in the fall can be tricky if you don’t want orange to take over your home. Don’t get me wrong; I love orange but a vibrant color like orange can easily overwhelm a space. That’s why this mini pumpkin floral arrangement is the perfect touch to give you cozy fall vibes.
- Mini pumpkins
- Flowers
- Floral foam
- Knife
- Spoon
- Shot glass or tiny candle votive
Note: Seasonal flowers like mums and dahlias will give you warm autumn colors to really compliment each other.
- Carve out a small circle at the top of the pumpkin, big enough to fit a small spoon (about 1″). Remove the lid.
- With a small spoon, scoop out the pumpkin seeds and pumpkin flesh. Make sure the inside bottom of the pumpkin is somewhat flat to rest a glass on.
- Cut your floral foam into a cylinder, in the shape and size of your shot glass. Prepare the floral foam according to the package instructions (usually soak for 2 minutes in a bowl of water and wait until it sinks).
- Place the floral foam into your shot glass.
- Trim your flowers so that they’re the length of your shot glass plus 1″. Arrange the flowers one by one by inserting them into the floral foam in the arrangement you like.
- Place the shot glass with flowers inside the pumpkin.
Floral foam is a MUST.
If you’ve never used floral foam before it’s actually really simple and easy to use. Without floral foam, when you trim flowers to such a short length the weight of the flower will make it fall out of the pumpkin (trust me, I learned the hard way). To buy it, check your local craft store or dollar store.
