DIY Washi Tape Holder

· In: DIY

DIY Washi Tape Holder | Fish & BullThere’s nothing better than a DIY project that comes together easily and you just happen to have all the raw materials lying around. Best feeling ever! That’s exactly how this DIY Washi tape holder came to be – a bit of leftover clay and a couple of wooden dowels is all it took.

If you love to collect office and stationery supplies as much as I do then you know it’s almost impossible to keep everything in one place… tape, glue and staplers always get lost especially when you’ve left something to the last minute. But not anymore! I’m so excited to have a home for my Washi tape collection with this DIY. Whether you’re going back to school or just organizing your work space, this DIY Washi tape holder will keep your desk clutter-free so you can get down to business!

Directions

  1. On a clean work surface, squish two or three clay colors together and roll it in the palm of your hands to combine.
  2. Use a rolling pin to smooth the clay flat which will create a soft marbled effect.
  3. With a circle cookie cutter, stamp out a circle from the clay.
  4. Place the clay circle into an oven safe bowl to create a soft bowl shape.
  5. It’s ready to be baked! Follow the package instructions to bake your clay (I baked my clay in our oven at 200º F for 6 minutes).
  6. Once it’s cooled down, drill a hole in the centre of the clay.
  7. Insert a wooden dowel in the hole you’ve just created in the clay – it should fit perfectly. If you’d like it to be extra durable, you can use superglue or a glue gun to secure the dowel in place.
