M found some great clear acrylic frames at the dollar store of all places. These frames are perfect for small instagram photos but they were too minimal for our style. So I decided to make gold leaf photo frames for a little fun and festivity! This project requires very little time, effort or supplies- my favourite kind of DIY…
Materials:
+ Clear acrylic frames (or floating glass frame)
+ Gold leaf
+ Adhesive size
+ Paintbrush
+ Sticky vinyl sheet
+ Hole punch or exacto knife
+ Photos
Directions:
- You will need the sticky vinyl sheet to create a stencil. To create the polka dot frame, cut two 1.5 inch strips of the vinyl, one for each side.
- Hole punch the sheet in a random pattern or use an exacto knife to create a fun stencil. Peel and stick the vinyl to the frame.
- Brush adhesive size onto our vinyl stencil, making sure the cutout holes are painted with size.
- The size will be opaque white when wet and clear when dry. Once it has dried, apply gold leaf with a dry brush.
- Peel off the vinyl sheet and you’re done!
